"One of the best ferry rides in the World…the surrounding Marlborough Sounds are jaw-droppingly stunning!”- Wine Spectator Magazine.A early Tuesday morning wake up for a familiarization tour around the largest ferry in New Zealand waters with room for up to 1600 passengers. The “Kaitaki”ferry means “Challenger: in Maori.
Thanks to Ms. Faye Allison , Interislander Sales Support Manager, who organized the tour for the Bolton Hotel staff.
From Bolton Hotel , we arrived at the ferry terminal around 7AM using the Luxurious and comfortable Bolton Hotel Kia Carnival van driven by Head Chauffeur Ted Clay .
The Team was headed by Chief Concierge Ingmar Becker and Sales Support Manager Ms Faye Allison invited us for a quick breakfast at the Kaitaki Plus Lounge on Deck 7 before we proceed the tour.
The Kaitaki Plus Lounge – For $45, this exclusive lounge offers free internet access, newspapers and magazines as well as complimentary beer, wine, tea, coffee and finger food. Just like the Air New Zealand Kuro Club or Corporate Box in Wellington Airport.
On Deck 7, aside from the Kaitaki Plus Lounge a wide range of passenger lounges and amenities. Take for instance:
Family Lounge - This area is a great place for parents to relax with their children and watch TV, cartoons or play video games.
If you are a Coffee addict check out the Café Oliveto and choose from espresso coffees, ice cream and café style foods and Souvenir Shop is also located in Deck 7.
Food court is located at Deck 8, with mouth-watering selection of light snacks and hot meals while Karori Rip bar features wide range of local wines, beers and spirits and a relaxing atmosphere.
If you want to see awesome scenery, while on board the Kaitaki ferry during the three hours trip from Wellington to Picton. Deck 10 is for you- main outside viewing Deck.
What I like with Kaitaki Ferry , a play area for kids aged 3- 10 is located on Deck 2 beside the Movie Theatres .
Thank you again to Ms. Faye Allison , Interislander Sales Support Manager, for a wonderful tour around Kaitaki Ferry. Hope to see you again and Thank you also to the Staff and Management of 5 star Bolton Hotel. Check out the video at TheSidestrip
