It was a 18 degree celsus last Sunday all the people came out from their houses to go to Oriental Parade to have some fun such as swimming or sunbathing. As for us, We went to Te Papa Museum, first and then me and my son Ivan watched the first skateboard competition held at Waitangi Park in Wellington.
The Boom Big Bang competition attracted the most accomplished skateboarders from around the country for the first prize of a return trip to Los Angeles and $500 spending money.
The event is sponsored by Boom Skateboards, Wellington City Council and Mountain Dew. The Boom Skateboards team will be at the event to wow the audience with their skating skills.
My son enjoyed the competition which the event start around 11am and finished at 3pm.
Wellington City Council Events Co-ordinator, Kristie Sanders, says the event will be great for families and is also a chance to see the new skateboarding facilities at Waitangi Park being used to their full potential.
"The public will be able to see top skaters competing at a top facility. It's also an opportunity for skateboarding enthusiasts to see what can be done at the new park."
