Our friends from Te papa Museum sents us this information :
Celebrate the opening of Te Papa’s latest multimedia experience Our Space (www.ourspace.tepapa.com) with an alcohol and smoke-free gig on Saturday 8 November. Admission is free and doors open from 8pm so get in early as there is limited capacity. Refreshments will be on sale.
For one night only, The Electric Confectionaires will be rocking the Wellington Foyer from 9pm with the progressive future-soul sounds Pacific Heights, featuring P.Digsss and Lisa Tomlins, taking the party on to midnight. Our Space, that features the free experiences The Map and The Wall, will be open throughout the party and the popular High Ride and the Deep Ride will be free to thrill guests on the night.
Since opening on Saturday 27 September, the Our Space community has grown to over 660 members with over 65,000 media items now loaded into the database, creating endless possibilities on The Map and The Wall.
Adan Tijerina, Te Papa’s Our Space Manager, has been rapt with the public’s response to the innovative technology so far.
‘Our Space is leading the way as museums around the world seek to engage with new audiences,’ Mr Tijerina says. ‘It truly is a public forum about the way we see our place in New Zealand - to celebrate, interact, create, share and to speak rather than be spoken to.’
