Megan Bradshaw from the Museum Art Hotel Wellington took out the title of ‘2011 New Zealand Hotel Receptionist of the year’,with Daria Felds from Hotel St Moritz,Queenstown being the runner-up.
Megan will go on to compete again, for the David Campbell Trophy and title of ‘International Hotel Receptionist of the Year’ at the International competition to be held in Prague in January 2012.
Six finalist from the Regional competitions competed by undergoing a gruelling panel interview testing their knowledge on costs, profits, revenue, yield management, staffing level, structure, promotional ideas etc! This
is followed by a skill demonstration (roleplay) where candidates had to think on their feet to identify guest’s needs and matched them with the highest standard of customer care and professionalism.
The Association of Rooms Division Executives of New Zealand (ARDENZ) facilitates this annual competition, searching for the best of the best from the Hotel Receptionist throughout the country, Megan will now go on to represent New Zealand at the AICR International Congress and compete against finalists from up to 20 other countries at the supreme award at the competition which will be held in Prague, Czech Republic in January 2012.
