Deadline Extended for Short Film Entries

The deadline for submitting your film for the sixth annual Show Me Shorts Film Festival has been extended by one week to 11 July.

Show Me Shorts is New Zealand’s major national short film festival, screening nationwide every November. This is the final opportunity for filmmakers to submit a short film for the 2011 festival and be part of a selection of the very best short films from around the world.

Show Me Shorts is going global this year with the addition of a new, out of competition international category. For the first time, entries are open to short films from outside of New Zealand and Australia. The best of the international entrants will join the selection of Australasian shorts in screenings nationwide from 3 November. Don’t miss out on your chance to be involved!

Festival Director Gina Dellabarca says, “We’re already feeling inspired by the quality and diversity of submissions received so far, which have made us audibly laugh, gasp or even tear up a little bit. Our thematically coordinated series of short film programmes is going to blow audience members away this year.”

As previously announced, the entry guidelines differ slightly from previous years, with shorter minimum and maximum film lengths. The new requirements are for all films to be between two and twenty minutes, and made within the last two years.
