The Coolest Little Capital in the World – Willington City will also showcase to the World the unique Wellington Airport New Terminal called “The Rock”.
As one of the New Zealand’s Most complex and challenging construction project, according to Impact Project Management.
Impact project Management director Garth Palmer said , The Rock required meticulous planning, rigorous attention to details and budget and effective communication with a range of organization from the Civil Aviation Authority and airlines to fuel companies and concessionaires.
On the other hand,Beca’s structural team says, With a multitude of shapes and angles to align, the engineering design for The Rock was enormously complex.
Wellington Regional Manager Mike Kerr added the complexity of the building also impacted construction planning, which was a significant challenge within the context of a busy working airport.
WIAL Media Relations Kat Linott says, Wellington is set to embrace tourism growth and now boast a dynamic and memorable airport terminal representative of the creativity and individuality of New Zealand’s capital of cool.
Meanwhile, Mr. David Perks, Chief Executive Officer of Positively Wellington Tourism says The Rock is one of many recent developments providing the level of service people expect from a world class destination.
