Audi Ambassadors Collette Dinnigan, Jennifer Hawkins, Ian Thorpe, Matt Moran, Matt Burke, John Eales, Alisa Camplin gathered to attended the launch of Audi’s all-new A8 model at Sydney’s Carriage Works last night. VIPs included Jonathan Pease, Melissa Hoyer, Natarsha Belling, Max Markson and Edwina McCann.
Celebrity guests walked the red carpet from 7pm, receiving a glass of Mumm Cordon Rouge Champagne on arrival. An introduction from Roy & HG as MCs kicked off the evening.
Joining the comedy duo to launch the new A8 was Mark Shipard, Product Design – Audi, an Australian who returned to Sydney from Europe especially for the event.
A welcome from managing director Audi Australia, Uwe Hagen, launched the evening’s festivities, the highlight of which included the unveiling of the flagship A8 limousine.
Australian music greats Jon Stevens, Richard Clapton and Glenn Shorrock came together for an exclusive performance alongside other entertainment for the evening including live art installations by Russian sand artist, Zurab Shelbaev, a video compilation by acclaimed Australian multi-media artist, Mic Gruchy, sculpture contributed by Australian artist Govinda Webster and a drawing contributed by Australian designer, Collette Dinnigan, visually bringing to life Audi’s design philosophy, the ‘Art of Progress’.
Guests enjoyed a sit-down canapé degustation which included eggplant, pecorino and mint fritters, five spice quail legs and coffee profiteroles.
An impressive wine degustation was served to match, including Pikes “The White Mullet”, Piantagenet Chardonnay, Wirra Wirra “Scrubby Rise” and Fonty’s Pool Pinot Noir.
