Despite the recession, The three days Maori Art Market at Te Rauparaha Arena in Porirua attracted a large number of people.
The event takes another big step forward with guest artists from North America and Pacific showing their work at this year's Maori Art MARKet.
More than 200 leading and emerging contemporary Maori Artist,featured in exhibition at Porirua City's Te Rauparaha Arena and Pataka Art Museum.
It was the largest collection of contemporary Maori artwork ever assembled. More than 2000 items including paintings, jewellery, clay work, sculpture, carving, weaving, fashion.
Contemporary Maori art is high demand internationally, but it is not yet recognised in New Zealand to the same extent.
The MAORI ART MARKet featured from artists, who sell their work exclusively to overseas galleries and collectors.
