Pooh!! Pooh!! Oh! Silverstream train

The other day ,as part of my weekly date with my family since my eldest son loves trains. We went to Silverstream Railway Museum, the New Zealand largest Collection  of steam trains in one venue.

It was fun-filled afternoon with other children and we enjoyed the 1.5 kilometre ride from the Mckirdy Station with L509 tank engine. I myself also amazed because this is the first time to saw a real steam engine running and operational.

According to the Driver, L509 was built in 1877 by Avonside Engine Co of Bristol, England, this small tank engine worked on railway construction in many areas of the North Island before being sold for industrial use.

The Silver Stream Railway is a heritage railway at Silverstream in the Hutt Valley near Wellington, New Zealand. It regularly operates preserved New Zealand Railways Department locomotives along a restored section of the Hutt Valley Line (part of the Wairarapa Line) before a deviation was built in 1954.
