Last Friday, I just drop off my wife along railyway station and I noticed yellow baloons in every light post along the parlament road and ever corner of the streets their are peoples wearing a yellow shirt and a small basket with daffodil flowers.
Ah ! today is August 29, Daffodfil Day!!
Daffodil Day is the culmination of a month of fundraising activities, and is a time when people support the New Zealand Cancer Society’s essential work.
According to Lynne St. Claire -Chapman,National Communications Manager, "We use the daffodil as our symbol as it is one of the first flowers of spring, whose bright yellow blooms remind us of the joys the new season will bring. It represents the hope there is for all those affected by cancer".
Cancer affects 1 in 3 New Zealanders. With your help, we have the hope of reducing its incidence and impact. Check their website at http://www.daffodilday.org.nz
