ThunderCat 2008

What I like with the Wellington City Council they have a line up activities during the summer seasons such beach volleyball and the Thundercat surf racing which me and my son Ivan enjoyed watching last Saturday at lyall bay beach.

At least 20 super fast thundercat boats were competing in the national surf cross competition despite the unpredictable winds and waves. About six or seven boats turned over during the race and one competitor was taken to hospital with broken ribs.

The day's racing was won by Ruff Rider, piloted by Cole Arnott of South Auckland.
