It was Santa Day yesterday in Wellington City as the first Wendy's Great New Zealand Santa run was kicked off in the Capital for the first time.
Our friends from Classic Hits Breakfast Show Hosts Dave Smart and Camille Guzzwell hosted the event.
The 3 km fun run simultaneous happening in Auckland, Hamilton and Christchurch. The challenge is to break an Australasian record for the most Santas involved in a race.
With more than 114 people took part in Santa Run to raise money for Cure KIds, the official charity partner of the race.
The event started at around 5:30 pm for the registration which is cost about $30 , which secures you a full five-piece Santa suit for racing and $15 goes directly to Cure Kids.
Before the race, Camille and Dave gives some briefing and a little warm up exercise for the participants.
At exactly, 6:30 pm the fun run started from Frank Kitts Park,Queen Wharf to Civic Square up to the Te pa pa Museum and going back to Frank Kitts.
The first women to cross the line is Sarah Haughey (photo above with Camille GuzzWell) and while Owen O Brien for the men category.

The Santa Run concept is big internationally with many Santa runs in the major cities around the world
