It's a weekend full of performances, events and food stalls during the Labour Weekend Filipino Festival in Lower Hutt and Porirua CIty. During the festival, my kids enjoyed some of the activities such as the traditional filipino games like patintero, sipa, bunong braso, Chinese garter and piko.
The Cultural Evening held at the Lower Hutt Town Hall is another audiovisual feast of colour, music, and dance to reconnect with Filipino culture and an opportunity for others to sample Filipiniana.
I was suprise the turn out of the festival is very high. Filipinos from Auckland up to the South Island joined Wellingtonian to embrace the rich cultural diversity of the Philippines.
After the Palarong fiesta in Horticultural Hall, Lower Hutt, We then go to Te Rauparaha Arena, Porirua City for the Sports competitions like Basketball,Volleyball and table-tennis. Check the videos, click here
Congratulations to the organizer of Fiesta sa Wellington for the job well done.
