As part of my weekly date with my family, last week we went to Cuba Street Carnival in Wellington .

We are one of the 150,000 people joined the 12 hour street party in celebration of 1oth anniversary of the  festival and this is the second time  for me.

The streets  from Blair and along Courtney Place up to the Cuba street are closed to traffic  with more the four stage are set up during the event with kidzone located between Cuba and Vivian street.

My kids enjoyed the events from music, foods and entertainment and the highlight of the Cuba Street Carnival ,the Meridian Illuminated Parade  which started at around 9PM  from Courtney Place to Ghuznee  street. Check my video ,click HERE.

To Recall, The first Cuba St Carnival on 21 February 1999 celebrated the distinctive artistic culture of Wellington’s most loved street with an audience of 15,000. The spectacular growth in popularity over 10 years now sees the event attract national and international interest, and audiences of 150,000, while keeping the eccentricity of Cuba St at its core.
