A Christchurch-based graphic designer won the Air New Zealand "Design a Designer bag" competition.
Cherie Dixon bag was judged to be the best cabin bag entry by Roanne Jacobson from Saben, and Air New Zealand.
Jacobson says the judges were impressed by Cherie’s versatile and vibrant design.
Dixon says her winning design was inspired by her OE.
“I’ve always been interested in apparel and accessories and I had a lot of fun designing my entries for the competition. The unfurling koru and plane design was inspired by that institution that is the Kiwi OE. I love the idea that New Zealanders go out into the world, in a myriad of directions, extending our unique culture across the globe.”
Cherie has won a luxurious return trip for two flying Air New Zealand Business Premier to one of the following destinations: Shanghai, Hong Kong, Los Angeles or San Francisco. Cherie will also have the chance to see her design through to the finished bag under the guidance of Roanne, and will receive 10 of her finished bags.
